Background:

Our client, a retail giant rapidly expanding in Ireland, is seeking an ambitious and business-oriented District Manager with a hands-on attitude.

As District Manager for Ireland, you will report directly to the Retail Manager and have close working relationships with other key business areas, such as HR, Store Concepts, Internal Audit etc.

The District Manager (DM) is responsible for:

  • Increasing sales and profit

  • Cost optimization

  • Optimizing operations in the district

  • Staff development

  • Securing attractive stores

  • Securing great customer service

  • The use of current concepts and guidelines according to company values, company sales & service and company leadership

  • Securing that all work environment rules are followed

  • Following the DM wheel to cover all areas of responsibility

Areas of responsibility in detail:

  • Getting the store ready for customers:

    • Maintaining and improving the store standard according to the rules of Attractive Store

    • Securing TOP 5 is on high level every day in all stores

    • Securing commercial stores and ready for campaigns

    • Securing current concepts and space

    • Ensuring that stores are ready and improved for each season

    • Securing attractiveness of existing premises

    • Close cooperation with store management during opening new stores and movements, enlargements or rearrangements of existing stores - the DM is responsible for the retail related tasks

  • Getting the staff ready for customers:

    • Ensuring that company Sales & Service process is performed correctly

    • Customer First ready staff – ensuring the store staff always exceeds customer expectations

    • Motivating and convincing the store staff, passing on relevant information, being present and available

    • Recruitment and introduction – main focus on Store Management

    • Securing Great Store Management

    • Training and development of the store staff

    • Retaining and exit

    • Minimizing sick absence and staff turnover

    • Maintaining high employee satisfaction

    • Optimizing staff planning according to customer flow

    • Optimizing staff cost

  • Optimizing store operations: 

    • Improving performance on decided key performance indicators (KPI) and relevant costs

    • Implementing new tools

    • Securing that all retail tools are being used correctly

Remuneration package

  • €45k base salary + car + annual bonus to max of 4 months gross pay

  • Company pension
