About our Client:

Our client, a well-established & prestigious name in the hospitality industry, is seeking a Meeting & Social Events Executive to join the team in their North County Dublin premises.

 

General purpose of role

This role is responsible for driving new business and develop business from existing accounts for all areas of the hotel including rooms, meeting & events, weddings, golf and travel agents business as required by the hotel to meet set targets. The role will be equally split between proactive and a reactive sales position. To ensure the highest standards of guest care and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times.

 

Main responsibilities:

Sales & Marketing

  • To carry out site inspections in a professional manner at all times and ensure the required follow up action is taken to maximise the conversion level of the business
  • To regularly monitor competitor business levels in local and national hotels
  • Assist in sales lead generation at all times for all areas of the hotel
  • To assist the DOSM and marketing executive with activities in relation to all areas of digital marketing and social media when necessary to help increase business levels and profile of the hotel
  • To work on ones own initiative to generate new business for the hotel in all areas
  • To ensure that all enquiries are followed up to company procedures and sop’s
  • To participate in all trade shows and promotions as required by the hotel
  • To account manage key corporate accounts and ensure business levels are maintained and agreed targets are achieved. For both accommodation and M&E
  • To carry our required telesales (40) and face to face sales calls and site visits (10) as agreed on a weekly and monthly basis
  • To adhere to and review the Yearly Sales & Marketing Plan with the DOSM
  • To achieve set monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual targets as agreed by the DOSM and General Manager
  • Achieve the budget set for room revenue sales in tandem with the Revenue Manager and DOSM
  • Take responsibility for Group Sales and the budgeted revenue targets set along with the Revenue manager and DOSM
  • Develop and carry out a pro-active monthly sales action plan to account manage and develop the rooms, M&E business with weekly sales appointments outside of the hotel as above and other activities to increase sales


Reservations & Room

  • To carry out your duties with a sense of urgency
  • Attend and participate in the weekly Revenue Meetings and Food & Beverage


Meetings & Events

  • Work to a calendar of events and identify peaks and troughs
  • Assist in sales lead generation at all times for all areas of the hotel
  • To work closely with the events manager to ensure that all requirements needed for the weekly function sheet are received and updated accurately
  • Maintain a tidy working environment and keep an accurate filing system
  • To answer the phone in the manner set for the department
  • Oversee that administration procedures are adhered to, confirming and chasing all enquiries with the relevant details and paperwork (contracts and credit application forms etc) with the Revenue Manager and DOSM


Administration

  • To manage and keep updated relevant reports for the department
  • To keep Opera up-to date with information on accounts and enquiries at all times
  • To manage and update the hotel CRM / database with contact information and background details on the clients at all times
  • To attend relevant meetings internally and externally as required by the hotel


Communication

  • To bring customer comments and issues to the attention of the Relevant Manager
  • To maintain effective communications with all Departments with specific attention to Golf, Rooms Division and Food & Beverage
  • To ensure that all are greeted with a friendly welcome and offered the highest standards of guest care and customer satisfaction throughout their stay
  • To identify maintenance issues and report accordingly.


Health & Safety

  • To have full knowledge of and be able to act upon the Hotel Fire and Health and Safety Procedures
  • To complete all duties and tasks with due care for the Health and Safety of yourself and other employees and guests
  • To ensure the highest standards of personal presentation whilst wearing the company supplied uniform, in accordance with company dress code policy
  • To report, and where necessary, take action on incidents, accidents, fire, loss or damage


Occasional Duties

  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by a member of the management team
  • Attend meetings
  • Attend training
