Background:

Our client, based in Dublin, is a food company dedicated to producing great food and who has become the No.1 producer in their industry through their focus on quality and consistency at the highest level. As such, they are looking for a Production Manager to join their team.

The Production Manager will have responsibility for operationally leading the departmental team, achieving targets, and promoting efficient and streamlined processes to make best use of available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and motivate Supervisors to build morale and enable people to achieve expected results

  • Monitor and control departmental costs and performance within targets and regularly report to manager on performance

  • Communicate, implement and monitor adherence to, company policies, procedures and standards, including People, Technical and Health & Safety, ensuring that the department operates within legal and best management guidelines

  • Train and develop team leaders and other identified personnel to meet current and future departmental needs

  • Conduct regular performance appraisals, identify and monitor training needs within the department

  • Lead and/or participate in project teams, departmentally or cross functionally to affect continuous improvements

  • Liaise with other departments and functions to implement new procedures, improve standards/efficiencies, trial and launch new products

  • Accurately complete departmental administration

  • Analyse and report on conversion performance metrics

  • Ensure maintenance of product quality and GMP throughout the process

  • Assist and manage the delivery of key projects

  • Ensure new employees are fully inducted into the business, conduct performance appraisals communicate key updates to the team, identify, manage and resolve work related disciplinary action and escalate issues as necessary from the team to the

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Production Management, Food Science or a related discipline and/or relevant experience in a similar position is essential

  • High care food manufacturing experience is essential

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Willing to take initiative & drive change

  • Innovative, flexible and enthusiastic

  • Strong motivation and team-leading skills

  • Skilled at managing large teams
