Background:

Our client is a leading advisory and accountancy firm and is looking for a qualified Senior to join their Dublin Tax department.

Main responsibilities:

As senior tax manager the scope of your role will include:

• Leading and coaching junior members of the team
• Managing the compliance requirements of a broad portfolio of clients (primarily companies as well as owner-managers, directors and HNW’s)
• Reporting directly to members of the senior tax management group and tax partners
• Interpreting legislation and identifying precedent in preparing tax returns
• Researching and identifying tax planning issues and opportunities for clients
• Researching EU and other international tax related developments
• Liaising with other departments to plan and provide professional tax advice
• Preparation and filing of tax returns in relation to corporation tax and income tax
• Ad-hoc input into compliance and advisory matters relating to all other tax heads including VAT, PAYE/PRSI, Capital Gains Tax, CAT, Stamp Duty, etc 

Relationships:

• Main point of contact for clients while onsite and throughout the audit process
• Build a good understanding of the client’s objectives / strategies & the impact on the department is essential
• Equally, an understanding of the role the successful applicant and his / her team play is crucial
• Mentoring, sharing knowledge and training of junior team members
• Helping management and Partner with client presentations including preparing audit planning and reporting documents 

The successful applicant:

Our client is seeking candidates who are:

• AITI Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA)
• A member of the Institute of Taxation in Ireland
• Team player capable of working with management and staff to develop the firm
• Commercially astute with the inter-personal skills necessary to make a solid contribution to developing new business
• Strong technical skills across all tax heads
• Experience is Alphatax desirable but not essential
