Background:

Our client, a major global brand, is looking to add to their team by recruiting a Travel Claims and Sales Coordinator. The main objectives of the role are to assess claims accurately & effectively, communicate professionally with customers & third parties and to actively contribute to continual improvement of department.  There is also an expectation fo rteh successful candidate to effectively manage costs and to be able to communicate policy terms & conditions clearly to customers.

 

Main duties:

  • Communicate with customers and third parties both verbally (telephone) and in writing (letter, fax, email) in a clear, concise and professional way

  • Assess new claims in accordance with policy terms and conditions, within specified service levels, and in line with departmental procedures and the Consumer Protection Code (CPC)

  • Handle any necessary administration duties relating to claims, e.g. filing, photocopying, completion of worksheets

  • Ensure that all relevant data is collated and entered onto the system in a timely way, with a focus on accurate data entry and regular data cleansing

  • Identify and initiate potential recoveries and subrogations

  • Handle complaints in a positive way, in line with Quality Standards procedures

  • Travel Policy Sales and Amendments in line with the CPC



Authorities held:

  • Authorise claims payments subject to approval by the Travel Claims Supervisor/Travel Claims Manager



You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Health & Safety:

    • To ensure that your work area is kept safe and tidy at all times

    • To abide by the Health & Safety Regulations

    • To notify the Company Health & Safety officer or the Managing Director of any Health & Safety issues which may cause harm to fellow employees

  • Training:

    • To advise your Manager of any areas of work for which you require any additional training

    • Be available for training on new schemes/policy changes and skills as required

    • To work towards completion of recognised qualification as set out in the 2011 Minimum Competency Code

  • Quality Management System:

    • To work as a member of a team within the quality system and follow all documented quality procedures and instructions

  • Key Performance Areas:

    • To work towards achieving 100% on all Key Performance Area targets set for the department

  • Appraisals:

    • To actively participate in and contribute towards individual annual appraisals, monthly team meetings and monthly one-to-one assessment sessions

  • Regulatory:

    • To work within and be compliant at all times with all relevant regulations and legislation applicable to the role

  • Self Awareness

    • Essential:

      • Well presented in line with working within a corporate environment

  • Education / Qualifications

    • Essential:

      • Good standard of general education

      • Successfully completed leaving certificate or equivalent

      • Completion of Insurance exams – APA certified or become a new entrant to work towards completion of Insurance exams- APA minimum qualification

    • Desirable:

      • Travel Industry related certificate/qualification

  • Special skills & knowledge

    • Essential:

      • PC Literate, e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook

      • Excellent telephone manner

      • Numerate

    • Desirable:

      • Good worldwide geographical knowledge

      • Experience of working in a claims environment

  • Aptitude / Personality:

    • Essential

      • Excellent communication skills and ability to empathise when required

      • Sound decision making ability encompassing diplomacy and patience when required

Hours:

35 hours per week – Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.00


Package on offer:

  • Permanent, full-time position

  • Salary - €26,000 per annum
